Dont worry. its not a real cigarette of course! its chocolate. haha
i wonder why do they bother wrapping that small stick of chocolate so nicely. it even comes in a cigarette-like box. i think its for keeping ppl like us entertained for quite a while. HAHA
.
I LOVE Cartel's PAN FRIED LINGUINE. yay.
You must eat it with the vineger sauce thingy for their chef salad
+ added vinegar and olive oil so it wouldnt be so dry.
Sinful - yes i know.
.
881 was not bad. i wont say its EXTREMELY nice. but thumbs up for a Singapore production. cos i SUPPORT LOCAL MOVIES! haha. Eh its a tad bit tooo draggy and lame at some parts. but still nice.
You can tell if a song is successful if ppl can still rmb the tune after the whole show.
haa and yes. jul and i were singing and singing to one of the tunes cos it got stuck in our heads ever since we left the theatre!
"ji lang ji puaaa..."
Dont play play. This show actually broke the box office record of Rush Hour 3.! haha
oh and Qi yuwu is HOT.

Met up with these funny fella's for supper on one of their book out days.
Probably wont meet them anytime soon anymore. so we took some group photos for remembrance sake. awww..
.
oh dear. i have too many BALDING friends. haha i'm hearing so many repeated army stories and i talk about the army as if i've been through it and know all their activities inside out. haha. (i mean of course not in the literal sense la. cos its not my experience. i'll never know how it's really like)
.
but Seriously. Guys have nothing else to talk about except the army when they book out. haha JIU WO.
no wonder ppl say, ;put 2 male strangers together and once they start talking about army, they talk as if they knew each other for years before. hhaha.

its finger lickin' good!

Seriously..
why cant i catch a proper fireworks display always?
-------------------------------------------------------------
NDP '02:
yes. i was at the stadium. but i was sitting way upstairs. and because the fireworks came shooting from behind, so all of us had a half transparent umbrellas to block of the sparks falling.
That day, i saw more umbrellas than fireworks.
.
Fireworks display '06: Rush down with the cell, ran from city hall to esplanade, pushed through the crowd, finally got to a place where i could catch a glimpse of the fireworks...Looked up.. saw a few sparks and SMOKE.
and oooHHHh The Fireworks Display ended.
.
NDP preview '07: Stuck at suntec car park. missed the show.
.
NDP '07: Fireworks blocked by costa rhu.. So far off that the sound came a few seconds later.
.
Fireworks preview '07: SO perfect until we heard the boom! and heh. we were staring at the wrong direction.! + The wonderful display of fireworks had to be blocked by some really tall trees ahead. so all we saw were lights flickering between the leaves and many many disappointed faces haha.
.
Why why why!!! haha.
----------------------------------------
but anyways, Saturday was nice.
(Other than the fact that we sort of missed the fireworks display again...,)
we Sat in the car, wind down the windows, feasted on KFC and talked while waiting for the fireworks to start. Sort of like picnicking. which.. felt pretty good. :)
oh and I realise sth. we always eat ta-bao-ed KFC or Mac in the car.haha and somehow, it taste better.
Esp when you share a packet of cheesefries while he's driving. mmm
.
OH! watch SECRET! (yes the jay chou show)
i'm never a fan of chinese shows cos half the time i'm reading the subtitles..heh but this one is really nice. although the special effects look alittle fake (typical for chinese movies).. but the plot is pretty interesting.
Dajie says its the kind of show that gives you the "itchy" feeling (whatever that meant) haha. okay. let me translate.; you know the tian mi mi, Ngiao Ngiao feeling? haha.
but i hate the ending. so sad. they still dont really get to be with each other., unless jay chou doesnt mind dating a women 20 years older than him. :) hahaha.
okay whatever.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
o.O
check this out. haha okay nvm. its just a funny random photo. :)
Top (left): Janice, sabby, me, jodin
Bottom (left): jason, dominic.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i'm getting uglier by the day! and i need an extreme makeover.
okay.. thats impossible. so How bout a new hair cut and some special facial treatment that gives me flawless skin instantaneously. :)

making my footprints

2007 is passing by so quickly.
Don't you think so.?
.
Feels like i haven't accomplished anything

Wednesday, August 15, 2007 @11:25 PM

NO REASONS FOR THIS

- I just woke up from my nap and i'm dying to get back to sleep. .
.
- i'm sick. againnnnnnn.
everywhere feels soo horrible. heh.
tell me. why am i so weak?
.
- I spent less than $5 today.
am loving myself for saving money. yay. :)
am loving myself for waking up so early and taking a bus to work everyday. woo! :)
but i'm hating myself for stuffing down snacks every hour. WHATT!!
.
- I saw that xiaxue girl (forgot her name) outside my estate today.
Somehow she looks prettier in person..oh and everything on her is pink. o.O?
i wonder what is she doing here. maybe she's my neighbour.
rightttttt why am i even talking about her anyways. haha
.
- i was laughing at my neighbour who was playing golf outside of his garden today.
Weird. is that even possible?
.
- Did i ever tell you that my office is like an Eskimo palace?
okay not my office. just at my table. cos the aircon is right on top. and i need to wear 3 layers + hold a cup of hot water to keep myself warm.
its crazy.
.
- I was listening to Michael buble's Concert on imeem at work..
and boy he sounds soooo good.
i like i like. :)
Music keeps me company while starring at numbers on the monitor everyday.
.
- I hate hate hate my sweaty palms problem.
no. not only sweaty palms. its sweaty foot and underarms too. UGH.
I slip off my heels everytime i walk cos my feet is simply too wet. Seriously.
Its gross and i hate it!
its starting to bother me now and bet you didnt know i had that problem.
its quite bad.
.
- I look like a nut in glasses. haa
and These ppl made me lose my sleep last night

Tuesday, August 14, 2007 @9:45 PM

banana banana.

"Look what i can do!" :)
(you got to say it like stuart from madTV haha)

With a pair of pliars, abit of twisting here and there.. and WA la.!
my very own necklace.
yay. clap clap.
okay. not bad for first try la. heh.
oh. and its much smaller than this.

.
Lifehouse was on repeat mode on my ipod today.
think i'm falling in love with Jason wade again. haha
okay..not exactly him. but his voice and the not so 'jaring' band. The songs all seems so much nicer after not hearing them for a long long time. haha
.
Oh no. Late. late.
Got to run!

Monday, August 13, 2007 @3:32 AM

so typical

i've been thinking and i need help on this.
Tell me, tell me. Should i start uni later?
heh i know. why am i so indecisive! ugh oh wells.

#1. My initial plan
Study at SIM - Economics and Finance
Degree awarded by RMIT - Project based
1.5 Years, Starting Jan 08.
Closing Date: Oct 07.
Pros: Starts earlier, ends earlier
: Shorter so its cheaper.
Cons:
RMIT is not as recognised as UOL
: money - Have to find some student loans

.
#2.
Still study at SIM - Economics and Finance
Degree awarded by UOL (University of London) - Exam Based
2 years, starting Aug 08
Closing Date: Mar 08
Pros:
UOL is more recognised
: I can continue working and save up alittle more for the course Fees, take up less loans
: At the same time, try enroll myself into other Local unis again. Who knows i might get into NUS or NTU business or SMU. heh.
: Maybe my family might stike rich because of the "on block" thingy. and money wouldnt be an issue. HEH

Cons: Its a long wait and i'm already a year late
: Start later and the course is also longer. Which means Pay more and graduate later.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.
Now. i'm quite keen on the 2nd option.
cos UOL is generally more recognised and with the extra time, i get to try enroll myself into the local Unis again. and who knows i might get a shot this time. (Cos our govt finally realise that only 1 out of 4 poly grads go into local Unis. So they're opening up more space for people like us.)
.
BUT.

-
Will a degree from a slightly more recognised uni make that much of a difference? after all, RMIT is one semester cheaper. and thats like saving $6k.
- will that more expensive; recognised Degree get me a better job?Cos I'm thinking..I have a diploma and i'm also doing Sai kang, probably earning the same amount as an 'O' Level grad. So tell me.whats the point of it again?
- Am i an exam sort of person? Is UOL more stressful? can i do it?
- I'm a year later than all poly students, and 2 years later than all JC students my age. HEH. i dont like the idea of that. and i hate waiting. i want to go to school Now.

.
Then again,
-
if i manage to get into some business course in NUS, NTU or SMU.. THEN the degree will make a whole lot of difference.
.
So now..

- The Risk is wait, and who knows i might get a degree that makes a whole lot of difference... but bear in mind that the probability is 1 out of ********** (heh. i dont know)
- Wait. Dont get a degree that makes a whole lot of difference, but a more recognised degree that makes a little difference.
- Dont wait. Get a cham-pa-lang degree that doesnt make that much of a difference anyways.
- Dont wait: Chop chop, get it over and done with. cos the outcome of either one is the same. might ask well go the faster route.
.
"Am i making sense to you?"
.
Seriously. i'm complicating myself. HELP.
Ugh. just help me pick one pls. #1 or #2.
AHH.

Thursday, August 9, 2007 @11:57 PM

its always better when we're together

Say Hurray!, cos It's national day!
Wanted to watch it from somewhere nearer, but we figured out that everywhere would be packed.
So yes, tushan, marty, yuan shen and i went to pebble bay to watch the fireworks.
But guess what. Even Tg Rhu is jammed can. tsk. Whhaaatttt is thissss.
It was like the other time, when Dajie and i wanted to catch the Fireworks Preview from esplanade but ended up stuck at Suntec's carpark for about an hour till it was too late to watch anything. UGH!
.
Anyways. It was quite nice. We sat on a big open field which is pretty much people infested, chit chatted and waited for the fireworks to start.

Then we saw physics in action too! oooo.
When the first few fireworks went up, i started complaining, "ehh we're so far off that we cant even hear the sound la! tsk tsk." Then a few seconds later... "BOOM!"
Ohhh... sound travels slower. haha
(For a moment i thought it was going to rain. cos it was like surround sound. Heh.)
COOL.

Oh and here's botak marty after his first 2 weeks. Okay he looks the same. and AH! all my friends are "balding!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's our beloved Zone 2 DP!
okay some missing people here.

SO. We decided to be crazy as a DP and wore school uniforms to church that day.
and many of us are... Overdue-d/ over aged students. haha.
Like Sabby... graduated from KC like years ago!.. and Joseph, working adult already, still dare to wear TPJC's uniform haha.
But it was Fun. :)
I wore jan L's MJC's uniform. haha zheyy macham only ah.
Everyone agreed that i look like a JC student. YES!!! (but a CHAO LIAN JC student). haha whatever.
.

Sabby, Jan C, Lav, Jul.
Can't imagine how much we've grown over the years :)
i still rmb in 2004, just one year after we graduated from Sec school, all 4 of us "daring-ly" and "buay pai seh-y" wore our school uniforms down to orchard road JUST FOR FUN. haha so lame.
and Sab jul and i wore our uniforms to work at some printing company that time JUST FOR FUN TOO! OH MY!
forgive us. we were only 16 then. hahaha.
.

Dominic and Ying hui (fake changkat students)
Jul and sabby (Fake SAC and ex KC girl) - vote this as the funniest picture ever. haha. its candid.
.

Say "POLO!" :)

:)
---------------------------------------------------------------
Then we decided to have more bonding time at Jan C's place with FONDUE. mmm.
so its off to GIANT for some grocery shopping. :)

we invited quite a few stares and jammed that place for taking this picture. hhaa.
.

.
So all that shopping led to this....

MMMMMMMM......... OH MY goodness. look at the chocolate.
.
we had marshmellows, apples, bananas, strawberries, waffles... ah!
DIG IN.

Us. looking so unglam, indulging in chocolate. haha. yummy.
.
I love you DP. heh hahaha.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh. and this is Zone 2. Where we come from. :)

Tuesday, August 7, 2007 @9:51 PM

What about now

Yay. i got a job. Starting tmr.
What short notice. they want me to start work even before interviewing me.
Its Some marketing assistant thingy at some Company that is US based. and yes i'm back to working at changi south, behind expo, where IBM is. HEH.
Hopefully its not some 'sai-kang' admin job. and i'm not paid alot but reasonable. Since i'm only a temp staff working for 3 months.
Dajie's response to this is: "oh no! you're going to go back to your aunty dressing again.!"
Okay okay. whatever. haha.
yay. income.! and goodbye my not so tai tai life. OFFICIALLY.

@5:26 PM

Spread the love.

This is like some majorly overdued post.
But anyways. yes. i was just browsing through my Myanmar photos and it brought back alot of memories (because its the first and only mission trip i went to when i was in Cornerstone) haha
so i thought why not post it here, just to archive my entire trip and let others see how Myanmar looks like. :)
.
I really enjoyed myself there.. The culture, the people, the food and everything made it so hard to leave. No wonder Pst Dan warned us not to get toooo attached! haha
.
oh wells. Here goes.
*and beware. its image heavy!* :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cornerstone Yangon Youth camp

This is their youth ministry. and guess what. they're called Generations too. :)
.

This is the view from our hotel.
Somehow when you're there, everything seems so beautiful even though its actually quite run down. haha. okay. maybe its just me. heh.
.
Below: Uniquely Yangon. :)
- The street and their people.
actually i think the pictures were taken quite well. haha (i took them!)

Bottom Left: Myanmar currency or rather Banana notes. WOOOooo. makes us feel so rich cos its all in thousands. oh and i was the finance keeper then haha. So i get to feel the "richest!" :)
Bottom Right: That is actually their number plate? haha So chim looking. i think if we had this kind of number plate, all the summon aunty fatimahs will have a really hard time taking down our vehicle number. haha.

above left: That says PEARL MILK TEA in Burmese. haha. CHIMILOGY
above right: and that's our bible in Burmese. CHIMILOGY again. haha its worst than reading chinese.
.
than its their water festival.
Its somewhat like their chinese new year there. but instead of ang pows, you get "showers of blessing" haha and apart from the whole religious cleansing purposes, the reason why the water festival is set during that week is because thats like the hottest time of the year! (40 degrees)
anyway. yes. The people are crazy when it comes to getting you wet. - Pails, water hose and just about anything you can think of that contains water is your worst nightmare. Some of them even added ICE into some of the pails. So when the water gets to you, its shivering cold.
Its like demon possessed really.... - Blasting techno music, Drunk people dancing (or rather most of them are drunk), vehicles piled up with men blowing whistles, etc. Its chaotic!
and we always get taxi's with no window, spoilt window, or we're just too late to wind up the windows. so we always end up wet before we even reach the church. haha simply hilarious. :)

See how the people are packed into one van? - thats their public transport. heh

and yes. Thats the part we all get wet. Donovan always gets to sit in the middle. so chris and i are always the ones blocking all the attacks.
.

Waiting for cab. and Look at their faces.. The weather is really very hot. haha
The cab fare usually varies. We have to bargain for a good price cos they tend to Ke-tok us foreigners. haha So its always better to get a local to do the bargaining for you! :)
.
The church.

This is the small lane leading into the Church. Its really kampong i tell you. haha

Kids by the streets and the very adorable neighbours of pst san-min.
Oh yes. Pst san-min's house is just next to the church. or in fact, its almost part of the church building. haha.

Their sleeping premises.
think your bed is too hard? check out theirs.
they sleep right at the back where we usually conduct our services. and guess what. right beside them is the toilet and the pigs. heh imagine the smell.

The toilet and bathing facilities. - that shed at the back is where the pigs are .
heh. i usually tahan the whole day and before going back into the hotel for whatever 'business' i have instead of settling it there. haha
cos yes. i'm pampered. - put me into the jungle, yes im okay. but give me a nice toilet pls..
.
Oh yes. the campers. :)
The kids are really so cute. Some alittle "over-aged" for youth camp haha

Them during praise and worship and Don speaking to one of the youths. :)

Okay. this has nothing to do with anything. Its just one of Don's spastic moments haha. Good thing i didnt put the other more embarrassing photographs of him okay.

Pst san-min and i. he's the cutest pastor ever.
"smiling!" :)
above right: Their electricity is powered by a generator. So the power goes out like in the middle of the service etc. That was one of those times when we had to make do with a candle in order to see what we were eating for dinner.

Food glorious food.
Okay not my kind of food. but some of them are really nice. Especially the soups.
and we get served like by the church helpers and PASTORS who are way older than we are.
oh my. its humility and servant hood i tell you.
.
CAMP
All that we did during their camp. haha

We taught them the hunter, squirrel, and tree game. haha.really funny. - and there is Dajie the squirrel.
Oh and When peihan and team went, they taught them the banana dance. so this time we taught them the chicken dance. haha Seriously. they're just so simple. They can have so much fun with such simple games that we people complain is its too boring. tsk tsk
.

and they taught me some Burmese song with actions and all. haha its really FUN. and then one of the nights the campers made me sing and do the actions with them. haha
.
Us. Preaching and teaching the word.

Bottom: Dajie preparing for his message and delivering the message. (he's their so called Korean superstar. haha) - oh no and i miss his hair. heh. okay nvm.

Above left: Chris and i taught them the song, Freedom we know , and got them to dance with us. dajie played the electric and don was on the drums. (KEYBOARD DRUMS to be exact haha)
Above Right: oh and Thats my first debut in Myanmar leading praise and worship with Mary (pst san-min's 2nd daughter.)
Bottom left: that fan i'm holding is our LIFE SAVER for a very hot weather. haha :) oh and that's the living room of pst san-min's house. where we rest, have our meals and chit chat in before each service.. its really crampy though.

them sending us off on the last night and here we are at the hotel for some good rest.
Luxury man! haha we ordered room service because we were so hungry and tired and We couldnt ta bao because all the shops are closed for their festive season.

above: us with pst san-min outside church

Dajie and "XIAO MING" haha. the very cute Burmese boy that looks so chinese.; Chris and I.
.
Yup and that our team! haha (what were the guys thinking seriously)

So yes. that pretty much sums up everything about the trip. Yay! :)
